Axe for Sunday buses

April 28, 2015 12:28 PM

Hannah FraserSunday buses on six routes in Shrewsbury will end on 29th March, as Shropshire Council has refused to continue funding.

The decision by the Conservative administration comes despite a storm of protest by passenger groups, residents and opposition councillors.

Parliamentary candidate Christine Tinker said:

"I've spoken to people who depend on these bus services, and on the wider public transport network, and they're appalled at this decision. These are people who may need to visit relatives in hospital, or want to get into town on a Sunday. If this decision affects you, please tell Shropshire Council on or 0345 678 9000.
